Damon "The Heat" Heta is Australia's number one PDC player. He was born in Perth in 1987 and cut his teeth on the Australian DPA circuit, winning ten DPA titles before turning professional.
His breakthrough came at the 2019 Brisbane Darts Masters. He went in as a 250/1 outsider with only two televised match wins to his name, and walked out with the title. He earned his PDC Tour Card in 2020 and is now based in England for the tour.

He answered it in September at the Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp, beating Beau Greaves and then Michael van Gerwen, both in deciding legs. He came from 5-3 down against Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals, sealing it with a 129 checkout, before James Wade edged him 7-4 in the semi-finals.

5 things to know before buying Damon Heta darts
1. It's a front-weighted dart, and that matters more than the name on it
Front-weighted barrels carry their mass toward the point. The dart wants to fly nose-first, which suits a firm, pushing release and a front or centre grip. If you hold right at the back of the barrel, a front-heavy dart can feel like it's dipping on you. Hold a set before you commit if you can, whether that's at a mate's board or at one of our stalls.
2. 23g is his weight, not necessarily yours
Heta throws 23g, which sits right in the middle of what most steel tip players use. That doesn't make it the right weight for you. If your darts tend to drift or wobble, go a gram or two heavier. If your arm tires late in a league night, go lighter. That's why both models come in a spread of weights from 21g up to 25g.
3. Series 4 or Natural? It comes down to grip and budget
Both share the same front-loaded character. The Series 4 has more aggressive grip (Harrows rates it 4 out of 5), with sandblasting between the rings for players with dry or sweaty hands. The Natural is left in raw tungsten, with grip split into a front zone and a rear zone, and costs $35 less. If you're moving up from your first set, the Natural is a sensible way in. 4. Quick Point lets you change the point, not the dart
Both models use Harrows' Quick Point system, so the points unscrew and swap in seconds with the included tool. You can change point length or style, or replace a worn point without re-pointing the whole dart. For anyone playing on a well-used league board, that's a genuine convenience.
5. His darts won't throw like him, and that's fine
Buying a pro's darts is a great way to try a proven shape. It won't give you his grouping, though. Pick the set because the shape and grip suit your throw, then put the practice in. If you like the tapered profile but the front weighting feels wrong, try a centre-weighted tapered barrel instead.
