The Awe's torpedo shape is built for front-grippers specifically — a short nose with fine 0.5mm grooves gives way to a double-toothed ring grip machined along the barrel, with a rear taper that shifts the balance forward.
That taper matters more than it sounds: wide smooth rings sit between each grip band on the tail section, deliberately less aggressive than the front, so the barrel guides your hand toward the front grip zone rather than leaving it ambiguous. Rated 3/5 for grip overall.
The design carries a tattoo sleeve laser-etched by master carver Whare Thompson, referencing the feathered collar decoration on a taiaha — a traditional Māori weapon. Machined from 90% tungsten, front-weighted, torpedo-shaped.
